ÖOC still relying on DB Schenker as e logistics partner

The international logistics provider DB Schenker and the Austrian Olympic Committee (ÖOC) have recently renewed their cooperation and signed the relevant agreement in Vienna. DB Schenker is now the “Official Logistics Partner of the Olympic Team Austria” and contributes to the 2016 Summer Olympics among others by transporting key components for the Austria House to Brazil, including the construction materials to the entire furniture.

This year, in addition to the Austria House, also a characteristic bakery as well as a climbing wall, 13 meters high were transported to Brazil. Over 5,000 pastries per day will be baked there for the athletes, coaches, staff and visitors of the Austria House. The entire interior of the bakery was transported by DB Schenker overseas, as well as the food and beverages.

The Austrian Olympic Committee has been building on the expertise of DB Schenker in the global transport management for many years. “The experience in the global transport management confirm DB Schenker is a competent partner,” says Dr. Peter Mennel, General Secretary ÖOC.

“We are very proud of this partnership, because it shows that we can meet the challenging logistics tasks of ÖOC around the world,” Helmut Schweighofer, CEO of DB Schenker in Austria and Southeast Europe, said about the successful cooperation.

In addition to the transports for the Olympic Team Austria, DB Schenker also provides the entire logistics supply of the German delegation.
