The ÖBB Rail Cargo Group has developed the rail car innovation TransANT together with the voestalpine Group. The innovative platform concept for freight wagons was presented last year in the form cutting hall of voestalpine in Linz

The cooperation event was submitted as a product presentation for the “German Brand Award”. The TransANT Product Launch was honored in the category “Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation – Brand Communication – Brand Events”.

The German Brand Award is a competition of the German Brand Institute. The institute was founded to strengthen brand management as a key success factor for companies in the national and international competitive environment. With its “German Brand Award” the institute awards one of the most important German brand prizes.

The award for a self-designed, developed and produced product innovation of the ÖBB Rail Cargo Group supports the efforts to make rail freight transport more attractive in the long term. TransANT helps to make rail freight transport more competitive. The innovative platform car offers a payload advantage of up to four tonnes – enabled by a 20 per cent lighter chassis.

In addition, the modular structures are available in various, industry-specific versions. The change of structure allows customer-oriented adaptations to different logistical requirements. Before the end of this year, the first TransANTs for ore transports will be put into in operation on behalf of voestalpine. In addition, TransANT will be offered to other customers for testing. By 2020, the innovative freight cars will be launched in the market.
