New UPS Rail Service between Europe and Hong Kong

The rail logistics concept is up to 30 percent faster than the sea route and up to 60 percent cheaper than air freight

New UPS Rail Service between Europe and Hong Kong

UPS has launched a new Full Container Load (FCL) service between Europe and Hong Kong, based on the existing UPS Rail Service between Europe and China. The goal: to better connect companies from both regions. The Hong Kong-Europe Rail Service is an extension of UPS Preferred’s multimodal freight services portfolio, which connects four stations in Europe with six stations in China.

“Hong Kong is an important trading partner for the EU, with goods worth around € 50 billion traded last year alone,” said Mike Harrell, UPS Europe Freight Forwarding President. With the introduction of this new rail freight connection UPS helps customers in Europe and Hong Kong to expand their business and enter new markets.

The Rail Service enables companies to adapt their own transport needs more flexibly to the requirements of the market and to reduce the costs for their own supply chain. Companies operating in the fast-moving high-tech, retail, and manufacturing industries can benefit from a faster market launch of their products. They also have the expertise of UPS in customs clearance at their disposal.

UPS offers a comprehensive portfolio of multimodal Full Container Load (FCL) and Less-Than-Container-Load (LCL) freight services that enable companies to choose between speed and efficiency – meeting the market demand for expected delivery times and cost reductions for international shipments.
