New intermodal link by Lokomotion from/to Graz

Lokomotion Gesellschaft für Schienentraktion mbH has expanded its offering in unaccompanied combined transport on the Tauern corridor

New intermodal link by Lokomotion from/to Graz

By order of DB Schenker Rail, Lokomotion launched the first train from Graz to Munich on 5 January 2016 for Wenzel Logistics, an Austrian logistics company, thereby expanding its route network. In Munich DB Schenker Rail takes over the train to Neuss am Rhein, with a stopover in Frankfurt am Main.

Wenzel Logistics has been operating a train for 11 years, carrying swap bodies, containers and semi trailers between the Ruhr area or the BeNeLux countries, and Styria. In the future five train pairs will be operated on this link, saving about 15,000 truck trips or about 6,000 tonnes of emissions.

Lokomotion provides traction on the route segment south of Munich, taking the trains via Salzburg, Bischofshofen and Ennstal to the Cargo Center Graz (CCG).
