New daily parcel record at Austrian Post

672,000 parcels on 17 December; an average of 540,000 parcels in the pre-Christmas period

New daily parcel record at Austrian Post

The booming online trade and the good Christmas business are driving up the volume of Austrian Post’s parcels. After the record volume of 605,000 parcels one day after Cyber Monday, this value was clearly exceeded on 17 December with a new all-time high: 672,000 parcels were distributed by Austrian Post on this day alone.

In order to ensure that all parcels and Christmas presents end up under the Christmas tree on time, employees of Austrian Post are working at full speed in the pre-Christmas period. An increase in volumes is already noticeable from October. Austrian Post transports about 360,000 parcels a day on average – in the pre-Christmas period daily values of 540,000 are reached.

In order to ensure that the last parcels and letters arrive in time before Christmas, PRIO letters, parcels and EMS (Express Mail Service) mailings within Austria should be submitted by Thursday, 20 December at the latest.
