New berth information service for Danube navigation

viadonau – Österreichische Wasserstraßen-Gesellschaft mbH now offers an overview of available berths with the “List of public berths for cargo and passenger vessels along the Austrian Danube”. It displays the most important information such as the location (river-km and river bank), length, main sign, additional information, width of the berthing area on the water, maximum time allowed for berthing as well as the river bank construction.

This overview is structured by the nine locks on the Austrian Danube. This list includes those public federal berths that are available for usual, operational purposes (e.g. rest times, staff change, shore leaves) of cargo and passenger vessels.

Berths that were constructed for specific purposes, such as waiting berths, emergency berths, high water berths or border control berths were not included. More information on those berths can be found in the electronic navigational chart (Inland ENC), which are also provided by viadonau.
