Mars Logistics: New intermodal line Istanbul – Duisburg

Mars Logistics, a leading logistics company of Turkey, now adds a brand new product to its current services, by which it offers different alternatives to its customers in order to enhance its quality of service. Intermodal trips started on the Turkey-Duisburg line, offering an environment-friendly and sustainable logistics model.

Making numerous differences in the logistics sector with an aim to enhance quality of service all the time with constant growth, Mars Logistics added the Duisburg operation to its existing lines of the intermodal services. The company realized transportation services with large-volume 45 HC containers between Turkey and Duisburg for the purpose of better satisfaction of the needs and expectations of its customers.

In the Intermodal transportation system between Turkey and Duisburg, whose entire organization is managed by Mars Logistics, containers shipped with commodities from various points of Turkey are transported via trains between Halkalı and Duisburg. After having arrived at Halkalı Terminal and pursuant to completion of customs clearances, the containers continue on train to reach Duisburg, Germany after having passed Kapıkule customs through the route of Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary and Austria. Containers, which are moved to chassis are then delivered to their various destinations.

The new Intermodal service between Istanbul and Duisburg of Mars Logistics, which conducted its first trip to the region on 5 May with a transit duration of 96 hours, is intensively preferred by different sectors, particularly automotive industry.
