Liefertraum (German “delivery dream”) was launched as a shopping service for Austrians on 9 July. The start-up offers an easy receipt of goods from de.-shops. “What counts for us is to make transboder purchasing as simple and cheap as possible“, says Rainer Müller-Mächler, Managing Director.
Transborder-purchasing is gaining popularity. An increasing amount of goods is purchased in foreign online shops, if they are not available in the domestic market, or cheaper in another country. However, not all German online retailers are delivering their goods to Austria – or at least not without high shipping costs. “We want to avoid that too much money has to be spent for online shopping“, says Andreas Waibel, Portal Manager.
The parcel service of Liefertraum enables Austrians to buy things in German online shops and get them comfortably and conveniently delivered to their doorstep. This works by means of a German delivery address, which Liefertraum offers its customers free of charge. This means that customers of Liefertraum order their goods in .de-stores, indicate their German delivery address and can profit from cheap, usually free shipping within Germany.
Liefertraum takes over the shipments at the German delivery address and forwards them to the destination address in Austria for low fees. For parcel forwarding to Austria, the shopping service is cooperating with the Austrian Post. Customers using the the parcel service of the start-up company from Radolfzell can save up to 50 per cent of their shipping costs. The Liefertraum parcel service accepts simple upholstered shipments, parcels, packages as well as for wide range of bulky goods and palletised goods.
How can money be saved by shopping with Liefertraum? Let’s take the example of the purchase of four new car tires: With a cheaper price in Germany, a voucher code of the online retailer, free shipping within Germany and the low-charge forwarding to Austria, nearly 20 euros could be saved. This means a saving of about 20 per cent.
Liefertraum’s comprehensive shopping service includes standard parcel insurance for a maximum of EUR 510, simple processing of returns and access to more than 9,500 discount coupons from more than 4,500 German online shops. The delivery of the goods gives the customers the greatest flexibility: the Post app allows changing the delivery address also on short notice.
