Launch of intermodal block train “CCG Graz-Frankfurt“

Wenzel Logistics to launch a new intermodal service between Styria and Germany

Launch of intermodal block train “CCG Graz-Frankfurt“

From 5 January 2016 Wenzel Logistics will expand its intermodal offering by adding another destination: there will be a daily rail service to Frankfurt. Following the service to Rhur area/BeNeLux via Neuss, also Greater Frankfurt will be linked to Styria (and the neighbouring regions). The traction partner will be DB Schenker Rail.

The offer comprises:

  • Daily departures in both senses
  • Higher payload – up to 29 tonnes
  • less CO2-emissions

Shifting transport from road to rail, Wenzel Logistics had been able to avoid about 15,000 truck trips on the Graz-Neuss-Graz route last year, saving 6,000 tonnes of CO2-emissions.
