The new Actros from Daimler Trucks is now on the road for the first time as an open car transporter for Lagermax, an Austrian logistics service provider. With the new flagship from Mercedes-Benz Trucks, the 3,600-employee family company from Salzburg is positioning itself as an innovation leader in a highly competitive industry.
“Lagermax has always relied on technical solutions that increase productivity and secure earnings,” explains Lagermax fleet manager Franz Birgmann. Take Predictive Powertrain Control, for example: the intelligent cruise control and transmission control system was further developed during the introduction of the new Actros. It now supports the driver in driving in a fuel-saving manner not only on motorways but also in intercity traffic.
“With more than 100,000 kilometres driven per truck every year, every percentage point we can save is important for our business success,” says Franz Birgmann. The drivers particularly appreciate the multimedia cockpit and the MirrorCam on the new Actros, the fleet manager adds. With the new Actros in their fleet, the Lagermax Group wants to send this signal, in times of driver shortage, as an attractive employer who always has the safest, most comfortable and most modern vehicles in the fleet
The Lagermax Group is represented by 3,600 employees in 55 of its own branches in 12 European countries. The group’s top-selling segment is car transport and related services: New cars are stored on almost 2 million m². The fleet comprises more than 500 own trucks, supplemented by vehicles of self-driving entrepreneurs.
