Keimelmayr Spedition joins transcoop09 as a new member

As of 1 January 2016 Keimelmayr Spedition- und Transport GmbH, based in Leonding near Linz, will become a member of transcoop09, a cooperation of about 50 medium sized and owner-managed logistics companies.
Transcoop09 was formed in 2009 in Germany, and was initially dedicated to classic load exchange and optimisation of available cargo capacity.
Meanwhile the cooperation counts 4,000 employees, 3,000 trucks, about
500,000 m² storage area and EUR 750 million in annual turnover.
While the cooperation was founded by German companies only, the European network covers today quality providers in the segments of forwarding services, FTL, LTL by truck, heavy and special haulage, distribution, warehousing, air- and sea freight. Moreover, the members are cooperating closely in terms of purchasing equipment and training of employees.
Robert Fellinger, Managing Director Keimelmayr Spedition-und Transport GmbH, explains the importance of such a cooperation: „Fast decisions of longstanding medium-sized logistics companies combined with a strong network will be a crucial advantage for our customers in the future.
However, it remains important for us to act autonomously and independent also in the future.“
Josef Perisa, CEO Transcoop09 AG, confirms: „It’s a great pleasure for us to have an Austrian partner aboard, who has been established in the market for 40 years. We see this as a further move to even better serve the Austrian, German and European market.“
In greater Linz Keimelmayr Spedition- und Transport GmbH operates three forwarding facilities with about 8,000 m² covered warehouse space and has about 40 employees. In addition to conventional services such as warehouse logistics, FTL and LTL truck transport to Eastern and Western Europe, the company has also been serving several niche markets such as logistics for semi finished and finished wood products since a few years ago. B2C services with truck-mounted forklifts, transhipment and storage of bulky goods are also included in the portfolio. In 2015 they handled about 150,000 tonnes of goods and generated a turnover of EUR 15 million.
