The TIR-EPD application – which can be used by the haulier for pre-registration at the entry and destination customs offices in 34 states – was successfully integrated into the customs system in Kazakhstan, ASTANA-1, on 14 November 2017. It is now applicable to all Kazakh customs offices, the Association of International Road Transport Companies of Austria (AISÖ) announces in a press release.
Furthermore, the AISÖ was informed by the Kazakh association KAZATO that as of 30 November 2017, the use of the TIR-EPD application for the prior information is required for all goods transported to Kazakhstan under the TIR procedure via a Kazakh customs office.
With TIR-EPD, the customs authorities can ensure that a pre-registration has been submitted by an authorised carnet TIR holder and that the TIR carnet is valid. This exchange of advance information facilitates risk analysis even before arrival and makes border crossings easier, safer and faster.
At present, the TIR-EPD solution can be applied in the following countries: Afghanistan, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Greece, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania , Macedonia, Moldova, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary, Uzbekistan and Belarus.
