As Authorized Economic Operator the long-established forwarding company can benefit from facilitations in customs law of the European Union

International forwarder Schneckenreither was certified as AEO

On 29 April 2016 the customs authority certified Internationale Spedition Schneckenreither GmbH based in Ansfelden near Linz as AEO (Authorized Economic Operator), which will become effective as of 17 May 2016 in Upper Austria.

The customs law of the European Union refers to audited traders who are entitled to enjoy certain benefits as Authorized Economic Operators (AEO). The AEO status can be granted to economic operators meeting comprehensive criteria regarding reliability, financial solvency and compliance with customs legislation.

The certification as AEO, currently granted to about 300 companies in Austria, allows Internationale Spedition Schneckenreither GmbH to benefit from a simple process without further extensive reviews concerning customs procedures with economic impact and from other simplified procedures throughout the European Union.

Even beyond the borders of the European Union, customs controls and investigations of goods and documents are limited to samples for AEO certified companies, making the processing for the customers considerably faster and easier.

The Schneckenreither corporate group includes several forwarding and transport companies with a staff of more than 400 employees and an own fleet of 160 trucks and about 100 swap bodies. In the 2015 financial year the group’s consolidated turnover was EUR 120 million.
