Innofreight Solutions based in Bruck an der Mur launches the newly developed SlurryTainers for liquid transports in cooperation with its long-time partner ÖBB, and in close cooperation with VTG. With this step, Innofreight enters another growth market – the containerised transport of liquids.
The innovative container was designed for the transport of slurry. Slurry or lime milk is a mixture of CaCO3 in the form of marble, limestone or chalk and water and is used in the paper industry as an important filler and as a coating pigment.
This SlurryTainer is another building block in the modular transport system, which is based on the InnoWaggon with various superstructures. The InnoWaggon with two SlurryTainers creates a payload of 142 tonnes. The short container wagon with a very high net load is another milestone in European rail transport.
In April 2018, the first series containers were delivered to the customers. By the end of May, 20 more containers will follow in combination with 10 InnoWaggons, which will be handed over to Rail Cargo Wagon.
