Just before Christmas, HSL Logistik GmbH, headquartered in Hamburg, was granted a license to operate as rail transport company in Austria. This means the company can now connect Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands with end-to-end traction.

In more than 15 years, HSL Logistik has managed to secure a market share of around 5 percent in Europe’s largest rail market (Germany). For its customers, the private railway company transports a wide range of goods such as steel, gypsum, cars, containers, grain, construction machinery and liquid fuels throughout Europe. In 2017, the volume of goods transported by rail reached around 12 million tonnes.
