Hödlmayr is working to enhance its block train systems

In 2015, the vehicle logistics company, Hödlmayr International AG, which is based in Schwertberg, achieved sales revenues of EUR 245 million. This represented an increase of eleven per cent over 2014 and for the current year the company also anticipates at least single-digit growth, says company Chairman and CEO Johannes Hödlmayr to the press. The number of employees rose by 50 jobs to 1,650 persons in 16 European countries.

Hödlmayr transports roughly 1.7 million vehicles annually and as in the past, this year will again see investments in block train systems, in order to shift part of this volume to the railway. This year, it is planned to add five more services to the existing 15 block trains.

Since the beginning of the year, Transport Service & Logistics GmbH, a joint venture with the British Stobart Group, has been responsible for final vehicle checks and dispatch handling at the BMW branch in Leipzig, where every day around 850 vehicles roll off the production line.  In addition, Hödlmayr acts as a releasing agent at six other automotive plants in Europe, and thus inspects roughly one million new vehicles per year.
