With Heike Sommer sentup, a Vienna-based transport and assembly service provider, has hired an experienced manager from the transport and logistics sector as new managing director. This is a clear signal of the company pointing towards expansion.
Heike Sommer was previously manager of DHL Freight Austria. At sentup, she is responsible for the expansion of the company, which has been operating in the areas of transport, assembly and project organisation for 10 years, both for B2B and B2C.
Together with company founder and CEO Petre Ognjanovski, Heike Sommer is working to position sentup as the leading provider of home delivery and assembly services in Austria. In addition to their office in Vienna, a location in Werndorf in Styria was opened recently. Together, the management team heads 33 employees and 70 transport and assembly teams in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Slovenia. In Austria, sentup is the exclusive partner of IKEA for furniture delivery and assembly.
Heike Sommer has learned forwarding activities from scratch, as an apprentice at Panalpina in Graz. She also holds diplomas in apprentice, mentor and trainer education.
At sentup, she can fully live her passion for logistics: “We are the perfect partner for everything connected to home, office and house: transporting furniture to the house, assembling furniture, TV sets, washing machines and kitchens, as well as complete furniture of offices and apartments from a single source,” she says in a statement.
“The demands of the industry are constantly changing. Therefore, we are constantly evolving. For me, that’s the kind of growth I’m aiming for: sustainable growth,” she adds.
