Headquartered in Mâcon, 150 kilometers west of Geneva, Groupe Alaine is one of the largest freight forwarders in France and specializes in the transport of general cargo and steel coils. In the future, the company will also rely on Ultralight vehicles from the Austrian premium manufacturer Schwarzmüller.
As a variant with a dead weight starting at 5,600 kilograms, Schwarzmüller offers one of the lightest coil semi-trailers for steel roll transports, setting the standard on the market. The loading and unloading is optimized with a variety of sophisticated technical details and the risk of damage is minimized by means of reinforced end wall.
“Groupe Alaine is a real opinion leader in the industry and therefore an important customer for us in the European market,” explains Michael Weigand, CSO of the Schwarzmüller Group, on the significance of the major order. The vehicle manufacturer has grown strongly in all markets in recent years, but so far has hardly placed any sales focus on the French market.
