2019 was an exceptional year for GO! Express & Logistics. While the courier, express and parcel sector (CEP) in the German market grew by 3.8 percent according to BIEK, the pan-European provider of express and courier services grew by almost 9 percent in the same period. More than 7.5 million consignments were transported and more than 330 million euros turnover was achieved, the company announced in a mailing.
The pharmaceutical industry, medical technology, high-tech and high-availability logistics are primarily the sectors in which GO! Express & Logistics expects further growth in consignment volumes for 2020. On the one hand, these are business areas that are generally growing constantly. On the other hand, the company has a distinct expertise in these services.
This can be seen both in the wide range of shipment options and in the industry- and company-specific tailor-made solutions. This also includes the continuous expansion of the range of services, most recently with the system-wide introduction of code delivery.
In 2020 GO! will pursue a mix of already firmly planned and optional situational investments. The former includes further process optimisations, for example to compensate for rising traffic volumes, a demand-oriented, route-optimised expansion of the route network and the increasing use and testing of e-mobility solutions as part of a further modernised fleet.
In addition, shipment flows will determine the extent to which the station network, including the regional HUBs, will have to be expanded. Qualified personnel costs. A related price adjustment was unavoidable for 2020. Partly because of the shortage of qualified staff, it is more costly to find, retain, train and further educate suitable employees.
GO! Express & Logistics is Europe’s largest independent provider of express and courier services. The globally operating partner network was founded in 1984 and currently comprises over 100 GO! stations in Europe. Around 1,400 employees and 1,200 couriers are on duty daily.
