The Geesthacht branch of Dettendorfer Spedition has launched its first intermodal transports from Hamburg to Italy. “Since we have more and more demand from our customers for intermodal transports and we see the railway as a way of supplementing our capacity in the future, we will invest in this area and thus create additional capacity,” reads a press release.
Since the company was founded in 1825, the Dettendorfer group of companies headquartered in Nussdorf am Inn, in the Bavarian district of Rosenheim has developed far beyond the European borders into an innovative full-service provider for forwarding services in the fields of transport, logistics and goods management. In the 2016 financial year, 576 employees at 14 locations in Germany, Italy and Poland generated revenues of EUR 252 million, of which 60 percent were generated in Germany.
