CTS Container Terminal Salzburg (Austria) to adapt 27,000 m² of additional cargo handling area in 2017

Expansion for empty containers at CTS Container Terminal Salzburg

The additional area at the CTS Container Terminal Salzburg GmbH will be exclusively used to store empty containers and is located close to the full container module. Construction work is scheduled to begin in spring 2017; the new empty container terminal is expected to be available from mid-2017.

CTS Container Terminal Salzburg is the neutral operator of the throughput facility for intermodal transport in Salzburg, and thus one of the most important transport hubs in western Austria. As the hub links road and rail, the customers include global freight forwarders, shipping companies, railway companies and transport companies. The annual handling capacity is around 300,000 TEU – on five cranable tracks each of 531 meters, a 350 meters free loading track and 5×750 meters hold sidings.

With the own fleet, CTS Container Terminal Salzburg GmbH carries containers, swap bodies and conventional cargoes as well as bulk and dangerous goods. Furthermore, project transport, warehousing and customs clearance complete the portfolio.
