After two-years of legal process and construction work, Ekol has commissioned the Yalova Ro-Ro Terminal. The Terminal now helps companies that import/ export to Turkey or use it as a hub for other destination for example Middle East.
It had an initial investment of EUR 40 million. As Turkey’s 63rd Sea Border Gate, the Terminal accepted its first vehicles on October 3rd and the first Ro-Ro trip commenced on Wednesday, October 4. Alternative Transport’s Ro-Ro vessel, QEZBAN, has already set out for Trieste/Italy.
Constructed in Yalova Topçular with an 80,000 m² floor area and 500 trailer capacity, Yalova Ro-Ro Terminal has a dock with 2 ramps, X-Ray, a customs office, a laboratory, agency offices, social facilities for drivers, a short-term storage area of 16,000 m² and an ADR warehouse.
“This investment was made in the most logistically relevant region of Turkey and will support the efforts of all our exporters, especially the automotive industry. Our investments have contributed to the development of both our company and the industry as a whole; this will soon help us produce much better solutions based on quality and profit.” Ekol’s Chairman Ahmet Musul commented on the opening of the Yalova Ro-Ro Terminal.
