ECS and 2XL intend merging their activities

ECS European Containers and 2XL are conducting exclusive talks to join forces. Both companies see the advantages of forming one European logistics group which will offer integrated services for intermodal transport,  warehousing and sustainable logistic solutions for the integrated supply chain.

ECS European Containers and 2XL, both having Belgian roots,  are complementary players in the European Logistics field. ECS focuses on pallet transport by standardized full containers to and from Great Britain, Ireland and the European mainland. 2XL thrives in warehousing and integrated logistics services for companies active in the EU and Great Britain. Both parties are convinced that bringing the two familyowned companies together is the best answer to the challenges the sector is facing today.

Following a successful outcome of the exclusive talks, a new group will be formed with headquarters in Zeebrugge,  but also consisting of a large number of offices all over Europe. Together ECS and 2XL will employ over 1.000 people of which half in the Benelux. As long as the discussions are ongoing, both parties refrain from any further comment.
