TIS GmbH, specialising on mobile telematics solutions, received an order from European Contract Logistics Austria GmbH, a subsidiary of Österreichische Bundesbahnen (ÖBB), to supply them with a mobile order management system for 450 vehicles.
In the course of this project a new track and trace system will be introduced, and also vehicles of subcontractors will be loaded based on a barcode system. Pick up orders will be directed to the vehicle directly, and paperless processing will be introduced, with integrated scanning and picture documentation of the entire workflow, from pick up and loading to delivery.
The new system will be integrated into the existing transport management software by Weber Data Service, thus allowing lean processes in general cargo handling and highly efficient quality management.
The first vehicles are planned to be equipped in April 2016. TIS will also deliver the MC67-scanners and accessories. The application will be hosted in the TIS computer centre.
