Rooted in parcel logistics, the DHL Paket Austria company has held the groundbreaking ceremony for a new construction project in Graz on 1 February. By August 2016 the first one of two central transhipment hubs will be built on the area of the Cargo Center Graz.
In the course of the construction project a 9,700m² hall with 80 gates, and 1,000m² office space will be built on a total surface of 59,000m². The official inauguration of the plant is planned for October 2016. Once the facility is fully operational there will be 200 jobs available.
The new hub of DHL Paket Austria will be integrated into the Cargo Center Graz and the Cargo Center Nord, the cutting-edge cargo transport centre south of the Alps.
