DHL Express receives operative license for Turkmenistan

One of the last blank spots on the DHL map is becming red and yellow. Ralf Schweighöfer, Managing Director of DHL Express (Austria) GmbH, and Igor Tuliev, Board Member of O&G, Projects, Great Silk Road, have signed a memorandum of understanding for a logistical cooperation for the shipment of documents and goods to and from Turkmenistan during the Investment and Partnership Forum (Turkmenistan – Heart of the Great Silk Road) on the 5th of September.

Ralf Schweighöfer said: “DHL Express is currently the first international express service company with an operative license in Turkmenistan. We are very proud that we have been able to convince the Ministry of Communications with our excellent quality and highly professional service.” And, he adds, “Our Time Definite International product now gives local people a unique opportunity to send and receive express shipments to more than 220 countries and regions.”

DHL Express is currently represented by its headquarters in the capital Ashgabat. More offices are in Turkmenbasy, Mary and Hazar. The company plans to extend the coverage of its services. DHL Express currently has ten employees in Turkmenistan.
