Opening a modern, 107m² business site at Goethestraße 7, DHL Express (Austria) GmbH meets a frequently expressed customer wish for a central and easily accessible location in Linz. The deliberately chosen convenient location close to Linzer Landstraße and the main railway station guarantees an optimised supply and customer-oriented service.

Michael Welsch, Vice President Sales at DHL Express Austria explains: “The DHL Express Flagship Stores helped us to establish an extremely successful and profitable retail concept. We will stick to this successful model and are exploring locations in Salzburg and Graz. In the final stage of expansion, we want to have a local flagship store for our customers in every provincial capital.”

The store also serves as a starting point for shipment deliveries and pick-ups in the Linz city area using DHL Cubicycles. “In some European countries, DHL Express covers up to 60 percent of inner-city delivery routes with cargo bicycles. We expect that the Cubicycle will help to strengthen this approach in the coming years,” says Ralf Schweighöfer, Managing Director of DHL Express Austria.

Karin Hörzing, Vice Mayor of the City of Linz: “The new location of the DHL Express flagship store combines customer-oriented service as well as conveniently located delivery and pick-up facilities. Especially the use of electrified cargo bicycles shows the company’s innovative spirit and is a successful example of how the Last Mile can be managed as a ‘Green Mile’ with CO2-neutral delivery in the city centre at the pulse of time.”
