Together with the workers council, the DB Schenker branch in Linz has launched a new project for this year’s summer: the first DB Schenker summer child care service. From July 30 to August 31, 2018, two pedagogues from Kinderfreunde Linz helped the working parents and took care of a total of 15 children of DB Schenker’s employees every day from 7.30 am to 3 pm. This offer will be made again next year as a result of the good response.
Thomas Ziegler, Managing Director of the DB Schenker branch in Linz-Hörsching, about the project: “Through this initiative we want to show that family and work can go well together and that we support our employees also during the summer months.”
To provide the children with an exciting five weeks, both an indoor and an outdoor area was converted into a playground and equipped with child-friendly furniture and toys. The children also had the opportunity to visit the entire office, including the warehouse and offices, and admire the trucks on site.
