DB Schenker: Launch of the new online platform “connect 4.0”

With “connect 4.0”, DB Schenker is consistently bundling its transport business on a central booking platform. At the click of a mouse, every customer can now access the international transport network of the integrated logistics service provider in a simple and transparent manner and send their freight anywhere in the world, regardless of the mode of transport.

Professional logistics will be easier than ever with “connect 4.0”, explains Jochen Thewes, CEO of Schenker AG. “We bundle all our individual transport areas conveniently on a central online platform and consequently continue our digitization strategy.”

Since “connect 4.0” has been available for land transport from DB Schenker in Germany and Spain since the end of August 2018, the platform is now also available for booking air and sea freight shipments. Online via sea freight, customers can have their deliveries delivered door-to-door in more than 50 countries worldwide, first by air freight from Germany to the most important export countries.

Whether major customers, small or medium-sized companies, every DB Schenker business customer can use “connect 4.0” to obtain different service offers for its freight consignments within seconds and display the expected delivery time. Delivery histories are closely trackable and individual shipment reports are available at all times.
