Dachser has been in the race with Quester for 15 years

Goods are shipped from the central warehouse in Pottendorf, Lower Austria to the individual Quester-branches throughout Austria on a daily basis

Dachser has been in the race with Quester for 15 years

Two longstanding partners are celebrating their jubilee: For over 15 years now the logistics provider, Dachser Austria has provided logistical processes for Quester Baustoffhandel GmbH, a building materials company. In this period, the transport volume of building materials and tiles has been increasing continuously.
We have been working very well with out partner Dachser,” said Kurt Weinhold, Fleet and Logistics Manager, Quester. “We trust each other and communicate openly, as a good working relationship is based on trust.
Dachser supports our logistics processes, so we can supply our 24 branches throughout Austria and provide a reliable high delivery rate,” he adds.
The cooperation has been growing gradually. 15 years ago, the management board of Quester decided to outsource logistics, and set up a central warehouse for ceramic goods and tiles in Pottendorf, Lower Austria. Following a selection process, the global logistics company Dachser was chosen for its package and comprehensive range of services.
A decision we have not regretted until today. The cooperation has worked well from the beginning and is constantly evolving. We are working on a permanent optimization process with a focus on quality,”  said Weinhold about the working practices with the logistics partner Dachser.
In addition to the delivery to its branches throughout Austria, Dachser also handles the delivery to construction sites and businesses. Around 10,000 tons of goods are transported per year to locations across Austria. The logistics centre in Vienna/Himberg plays a central role.
The orders are received by each branch. The data is transmitted directly to Dachser. Every day Dachser brings ceramic goods and tiles from Italy, Germany and Poland to Pottendorf and delivers them to the Quester locations throughout Austria.
Quester has 24 own branches in Vienna, Lower Austria, Styria, Upper Austria, Salzburg and Caritnhia as well as a central warehouse for tiles and more than 50,000 active customers throughout Austria, making the company a big player in building materials and tile trade. Since 2005 the company has been part of the internationally operating stock-listed CRH-group based in Dublin. This group has 4,000 locations in 37 countries, and is ranging among the global market leaders in the segment of building materials. Apart from the sales points there is a central warehouse for ceramics and tiles in Pottendorf.
