Dachser Food Logistics going to Austria also on Saturdays now

Dachser Food Logistics has added a “weekend service” to its portfolio. As of February, the food logistics provider collects goods at customer sites throughout Germany on Saturdays as well. The delivery of the goods takes place on Monday—if requested, by 11.a.m. in Germany. This additional day is especially advantageous for producers of highly perishable foods that must satisfy strict freshness standards—such as meat and convenience products.

“Our new service provides manufacturers with a standardized and comprehensive solution for handling output six days a week,” says Alfred Miller, Managing Director of Dachser Food Logistics. “Thanks to our weekend service, customers can make Saturday a normal workday in terms of logistics. Improving the sell-by date by a whole day grants customers more leeway with respect to production and delivery.”

Shipments for the “weekend service” are transshipped at the Eurohub Dachser Food Logistics near Frankfurt am Main, now operational six days a week. This allows the new “weekend service” to also processes European shipments and transit shipments within the European Food Network.

This offer initially applies to exports from Germany to Denmark, Luxembourg, Austria, Poland and the Netherlands. Furthermore delivery is also available in parts of Belgium, northern Italy, the Czech Republic and Switzerland. Trans-European shipments can now arrive a day sooner than before.
