Dachser again leader for groupage cargo

Every two years, the Fraunhofer IIS Center for Applied Research on Supply Chain Services SCS works with trade magazine DVZ and the German Logistics Association (BVL) publish a ranking of the 100 European logistics companies with the highest revenue.

In this year’s edition, Dachser conquers the top ranking in the area of general cargo logistics (LTL). This puts the company in the lead against its current leader, DB Schenker, and makes it European market leader for the second time after 2013/14. In the case of special transports, for example the food logistics according to the Fraunhofer-Team, Dachser climbs from seventh to fourth place.

According to the 2017/2018 study (based on revenue figures 2016), the total European logistics market experienced growth of some two percent to around EUR 1,050 billion. This means the logistics industry grew just as strongly as the EU markets, where GDP growth last year was 1.9 percent.

The study “Top 100 Logistics in Europe” is the most prestigious work in which the market and competition in logistics in Germany and Europe are presented based on key figures, focusing on nine submarkets of the European logistics market. The latest 2017-2018 ranking is based on revenue figures for the year 2016.
