Duisburger Hafen AG (duisport) and China Railway Container Transport Corp., Ltd. (CRCT), a subsidiary of China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., are working together increasingly in the future. Now, the framework agreement has been agreed on the further expansion of China Railway Express traffic.
The company CRCT, based in Beijing, was founded in November 2003 with a share capital of EUR 502 million. The offer includes the transport of goods, international freight forwarding services and international goods trade.
With the strategic cooperation, the two companies are promoting rail transport between China and Duisburg. In addition, duisport strengthens its position as Europe’s most important hinterland hub and expands its international network. There are currently up to 40 trains per week between Duisburg and China.
“By working with CRCT, we not only create an additional offer for our customers, but also increase capacity utilization and increase efficiency,” said Duisports CEO Erich Staake. On November 26, 2019, CRCT officially opens its European branch in Duisburg with CRCT Europe Logistics GmbH.
