Cargolux Italia launches Milano – Novosibirsk – Zhengzhou flights

New liner service underlines Cargolux Italia’s status as most important freight-only airline in Mailand Malpensa and as a strategic partner of Italy’s industry

Cargolux Italia has started a weekly B747 freighter service from Milan Malpensa to the freighter airline’s central Chinese hub in Zhengzhou.
The first flight took off on 13 June 2015 from Milano. According to the flight schedule a flight will be operated on Saturdays on the Malpensa – Novosibirsk – Zhengzhou – Novosibirsk – Malpensa route.
The weekend service is timed to the shipping industry’s need to move its weekday production to international destinations overseas in due time. Commodities on this route include Italian fashion goods, machinery and mechanical spare parts. Cargolux Italia’s flights make use of Zhengzhou as a major gateway to China, from where goods are forwarded to other Chinese markets on Cargolux’s trucking system.
The commercial stop in Russia allows Cargolux Italia to offer their customers a fast and reliable connection from Europe to Novosibirsk – an important gateway for flowers, garments and machinery in the Asian part of Russia.
“For Cargolux Italia and the Cargolux group, the new flight to Zhengzhou and Novosibirsk means a consolidation of their presence in the Italian market,” said Pierandrea Galli, chief executive and accountable manager of Cargolux Italia. Furthermore this was addition to the existing flights from Italy, to main destinations such as Hong Kong, Osaka, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
