BMW Group: CO2-free rail transport with TFG Transfracht

On 10 May 2017, Kerstin Corvers, Managing Director of TFG Transfracht, presented the “Klimabanz” certificate to Norbert Dierks, responsible for sustainability/CO2 control in transport logistics for the inbound and international transports of the BMW Group, at the transport logistics 2017 in Munich.

“As a railway operator, we are operating the main run on the rail, which avoids 100% CO2 emissions from transport with Eco Plus, compared to truck, and we are thus setting a good example in Green Logistics,” explains Kerstin Corvers.

TFG Transfracht is the market leader in containerised hinterland services for Germany’s seaports. Its extensive AlbatrosExpress network enables the company to operate daily connections from the ports of Hamburg, Bremerhaven and Wilhelmshaven to more than 15,000 locations throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland. TFG Transfracht is a company of Deutsche Bahn AG, and handled a transport volume of 910,000 TEU in 2016.
