“Many companies are counting on forwarders when it comes to customs handling, who in turn are exempt from liability and have only rarely profound knowledge of customs issues“, said Andreas Knie at the opening ceremony of Awor Customs Austria GmbH on 15 April to many invited guests. He had been able to observe that many companies in Austria do not sufficiently adhere to the comprehensive customs regulations of the European Union. This caused variable risks that might have financial or even penal consequences.
The Awor Customs branch in Hörsching headed by Thomas Staudinger, wants to provide this expert knowledge to Austria’s export industry. The elementary basis therefore is the determination and use of correct tariff headings. Awor Customs has specialised on this, and combines technical and systemic know how with customs tariff expertise. In this way the company can determine the correct tariff headings, check licensing requirements and integrate it directly into the customers’ systems.
Moreover they manage import and export registrations, check supplier declarations and carry out preferential calculations. Exclusive customs and foreign trade consulting, including AEO certification and internal employees trainings, complete the service portfolio.
