According to the German Federal Cartel Office on 26 June, the Austrian Federal Competition Authority and the Federal Cartel Prosecutor approved the planned takeover of locations of the Deutsche Post DHL Group in Austria by the Austrian Post under certain conditions.

On the cut-off date August 1, 2019, Austrian Post will take over three logistics centers (Vienna, Enns, Cargo Center Graz) and ten delivery depots, as well as a large part of the employees of DHL Parcel Austria GmbH in Austria.

The delivery of standard parcel shipments of the Deutsche Post DHL Group to private recipients in Austria will then be handled by Austrian Post. Customers should benefit from high-quality parcel delivery services, including short shipment times and delivery six days a week. The operations of DHL Express in Austria will remain unaffected by this agreement.
