Change in the management board of the logistics provider DB Schenker in Austria and Southeastern Europe: As of December 1st, 2018, Alexander Winter (46) will holt the position of the CEO of Schenker & Co AG in Vienna. He succeeds Helmut Schweighofer (49), who recently took over the management of DB Schenker Europe and moved to Germany
Alexander Winter, a native of Vienna, graduated in law studies and began his career at DB Schenker some 20 years ago. Since 2013 he has been a member of the management team, where he was responsible for ocean freight and contract logistics. Prior to that, he worked at the branches in Salzburg and Vienna, where he headed the Vienna office as well as the seafreight department.
The new CEO, Alexander Winter, who will be heading more than 7,000 employees at 80 branches in 14 countries as of December 1st, sees his primary task as “further expanding DB Schenker’s leading position in the markets of Austria and Southeastern Europe, and strengthen it sustainably” as he said on the occasion of his appointment.
DB Schenker is an international logistics provider with 77,000 employees at 2,000 locations. Schenker & Co AG in Vienna serves as Cluster Office for Southeastern Europe (14 countries, 7,000 employees).
