From 2020 to 2030, the AVILOG logistics and commercial park will be built in the new Aviation City Klagenfurt

On 19th August, LILIHILL, the majority owner (74.9 percent), presented the latest development of Klagenfurt Airport. By 2024 the airport shall become Europe’s most modern, efficient and passenger-friendly airport. The new Aviation City Klagenfurt is being built around the flight operations.

In addition to the new airport, the project will include an airport hotel (AVITEL), a logistics center (AVILOG), a technology park (AVIMOTION TecPark), an exhibition center (AVIFAIR) and extensive infrastructure. In the final expansion phase, around 375,600 m² of the approximatley 580,300 m² will be developed and thus become commercially usable. In the medium term, around 5,400 new jobs will be created in the new Aviation City Klagenfurt.

“The Aviation City Klagenfurt is an integrated and symbiotic concept. The new district offers a new future perspective to the entire region. The sustainable concept enables economic growth and a major development step for the business and tourism location,” says LILIHILL’s Managing Director Karl-Georg Eisner.

In the new Aviation City Klagenfurt, the AVILOG logistics and commercial park will be built on an area of around 136,500 m² in the period from 2020 to 2030. By 2030, the AVIMOTION TecPark will be a groundbreaking development and application center for autonomous and alternative mobility, as well as aviation on around 257,000 m² (around 174,500 m² of covered area).
