A-road in western Austria to be closed for four weeks

After a hard winter and countless fallen trees, the A road B 180 Reschenstrasse will have to be closed for four weeks in the section from Pfunds / Kajetan Bridge to Nauders from 3 June. The reason for this is the time-consuming and demanding clearing work in the difficult terrain above the section between Tschingelsgalerie and Unterer Finstermünztunnel.

With the exception of buses, all vehicles over 13 meters and vehicles with trailers over 6.5 meters in length – including articulated lorries – will be diverted to the Swiss part via B 185 Martinsbrucker Straße and B 184 Engadiner Straße. Due to the tight curve radii, there will be a driving ban for larger vehicles on the detour route. For the duration of the closure, they will have to go via the Brenner pass.

“We are aware that a B 180 closure is a burden on the entire region. We therefore endeavor to carry out the absolutely necessary work for safety reasons as quickly as possible,” says Günter Heppke, Head of the construction office of the district of Imst. The progress of the clearing activities is weather dependent. Also, the exact extent of the backup work will become visible only in the course of the work.
