In the run-up to the biathlon competitions in Hochfilzen, DB Schenker and the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV) extended their long-standing cooperation up to and including the 2024/2025 season: “DB Schenker is a strong and reliable partner, on whom we have been able to rely one hundred percent for over 15 years. We are therefore particularly pleased that we have been able to extend our cooperation and can also count on the know-how, excellent logistics and transport capacity of DB Schenker for the next five years,” explained ÖSV President Prof. Peter Schröcksnadel and ÖSV Secretary General Dr. Klaus Leistner in unison.
Alexander Winter, CEO of DB Schenker in Austria and Southeastern Europe, explained on the occasion of the signing of the contract that more than 315 tonnes of equipment had been transported to races and training camps in almost all parts of the world since the beginning of the cooperation.
The ÖSV biathlon truck also shows that the integrated logistics service provider has a suitable solution for all logistical challenges. It is a service truck that accompanies the ÖSV biathlon team to all European races and material tests. The truck was equipped with its own workbenches, hundreds of ski mounts and its own ski grinding machine.
Only thanks to the most precise planning and exact coordination between the experts of the ÖSV and DB Schenker in Ried and Kufstein permits the biathlon truck to arrive on time at any location in Europe for any training and race. The logistics for the ÖSV requires above all flexibility, as the specified race schedules not only require meticulous planning and punctual delivery, but can also be postponed or even cancelled due to external conditions.
