For experienced freight forwarders, the real attraction of the ocean freight business is the shipment of breakbulk. In this field you have to plan a lot and shine with good ideas if necessary, is their point of view. However, the necessary “carriers” had so far only a few points of contact with business partners in Austria and Switzerland. From now on, EMS Chartering, which has opened a new office in Feldkirch for this purpose, can and wants to help them.
“There are many interesting companies in Austria to which we can add value to with our solutions,” says Fabio Buzzi, Senior Commercial Manager Austria + Switzerland of the company, who intends to visit them all in the near future to present them the offerings of EMS Chartering personally.
Basically, the range of services extends beyond the partial and full chartering of conventional ships. Being part of the EMS-Fehn-Group in Leer, it is also possible to offer handling services at the own port terminal in Papenburg and in Durres (Albania), supplemented by pre- and post-carriage in Europe and overseas.
EMS Chartering relies on its own fleet of eleven ships in short-sea traffic. Its field of application extends from the North Sea and the Baltic Sea across the Mediterranean for North Africa to the Black Sea. For further routes, the Deepsea department in Bremen charters the tonnage of experienced shipping companies for the transport of breakbulk and RoRo cargoes.
The ÖVZ reports extensively on EMS Chartering in issue number 37/2019.
