At the end of 2018, the premium fashion brand René Lezard changed its strategy to strengthen its competitiveness. Production was switched from passive contract processing to full-line business and logistics was outsourced.
The logistics for René Lezard as a high-quality fashion brand is demanding. Therefore, it requires a specialised service provider. The structured invitation to tender resulted in the logistics and fulfillment service provider Loxxess AG, Unterföhring, as a partner for René Lezard in January 2019.
CEO Isabella Hierl explains the decision as follows: “Loxxess is a solid family business, at the same time innovative and competent in the area in which we operate. At the Bor site, everything is available that is required for efficient, high-quality textile logistics: know-how and employees, the special equipment for textile processing and the capacity and flexibility for our business.”
The volume comprises a stock of 90,000 parts and about 400,000 parts per year to be moved, leaving the warehouse in the direction of the distribution channels. The collections are available in the René Lezard stores, the René Lezard online shop as well as high-end retailers. They are distributed in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, CIS, the Middle East and Canada.
Since the operational start in July 2019, Loxxess has been in charge of the goods receipt and quality control, the inventory management for horizontal and hanging goods, picking, packing and shipping via various distribution channels including export customs clearance, for returns handling and for value added services and processing work (e.g.tunnels, dolls, steam ironing, etc.).
“At the very top, of course, is the quality: The goods have to be processed perfectly, i.e. ironed, labeled and packaged. The outgoing orders are picked individually according to the different requirements of the sales channels and customers. About 60 per cent of the garments are sent hanging. Loxxess has convincingly demonstrated the competence for this demanding logistics “, says Isabella Hierl.
Loxxess AG specialises in complex outsourcing projects in industrial and commercial logistics. Tailored logistics and fulfillment solutions are developed and implemented on the basis of individual concepts for customers of different industries. The Tegernsee-based company employs around 2,000 people, has 25 locations in Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland and manages 600,000 m² of storage space
