In the past financial year Gefco Austria has carried a considerable volume of sheets and coils for voestalpine across Europe (including Germany, Italy, France and Belgium) to be further processed by customers to various metal products, among other things, for the automotive industry. The services of the specialist in the field of industrial logistics graded A in the regularly conducted supplier evaluation by the steel group, which is the best possible rating.
The voestalpine partner assessment forms the basis for the hiring of suppliers and business partners. It is set broadly and covers the entire range of a business relationship; the check includes equipment, punctuality, credit quality, service and complaint rate.
To obtain a meaningful result, the steel group allows various departments to evaluate the performance of suppliers. The material planning unit is involved as well as customer service, sales, quality handling and the logistics areas of all divisions. The averages eventually show valid, performance-based results.
The top grade A means performance at the highest level and ensures Gefco has a solid standing with the client. “This evaluation by voestalpine was enabled only by the power of our entire team – which I am proud of. It is a great honor to be the top partner of a global company,” says Peter Vanek, Managing Director of Gefco Austria.
