The adaptation work on the new transporters bears the signature of Hödlmayr’s vehicle construction division

150 Iveco transporters for Austrian Post AG

The Austrian Post has added 150 Iveco transporters to its fleet – 142 will be used for parcel service and eight for mail services. These vehicles shall contribute to reach the targeted efficiency increase and optimisation of lifecycle costs.
The two variants of the Iveco Daily box van 35 S 13 V offer a cargo hold of 10.8 and 16 cubic metres, respectively. The economically designed engine has a size of 2.3 l and a performance of 126 HP. The vehicles are equipped with rear-wheel drive, 4 vehicles are 4×4 all wheel drive-vehicles, the cargo hold and the wheel arches were dressed inside to meet precise specifications of Austrian Post.
Within a system partnership with the vehicle logistics specialist Hödlmayr, all cars were transported directly from the production plant in Italy to Schwertberg in Austria. Hödlmayr’s vehicle construction division carried out the adaptations for Post AG – installing rear view cameras, underbody protection and the Post car wraps. Afterwards the vehicles were delivered to the various Post logistics centres.
On the occasion of the vehicle handover at the Post logistics center in Vienna-Inzersdorf DI Peter Umundum, Member of the Management Board of Austrian Post, in charge of the Parcel & Logistics division, stressed that “Iveco has precisely met the time and technical specifications of the tender in 2015, and the first vehicles are already in daily use for a few weeks, demonstrating their solidity and efficiency”. He also mentioned the positive feedback of the drivers, who particularly praised the manoeuvrability of the vehicles.
KR Johannes Hödlmayr, Spokesman of the Management Board, was pleased  that in addition to its expertise in vehicle transport, Hödlmayr Logistics has also contributed to the customized vehicle adaptation in this Austria-wide project, and thus the timely handover of all 150 vehicles could be ensured in consultation with the Iveco assembly plant.”
