Therefore I am very pleased that our initiative ‘young.stars academy’ recorded considerable successes last year, both among apprentice and among our partners and customers,” said Helmut Schweighofer, CEO of DB Schenker in Austria and Southeast Europe.

Also this year, the main focus of the training will lie in the development of social and personal skills of young talents, in addition to professional qualifications. “The strengthening of their personal skills and the expansion of their social know-how in addition to the practical training, make our apprentices future top experts,” explains Martin Obermüller, Head of Human Resources at DB Schenker in Austria and Southeast Europe.

The modular training program was developed by DB Schenker together with experienced experts consists in two all-day teaching units per tuition year. Teamwork as well as the handling of conflicts are dealt with in the second tuition year. In the third year the strengthening of self-responsible thinking and acting as well as the development of a personal success compass are paramount.
